Perhaps you are a mother or father who has had a career in research, data analysis, or IT and now want to re-enter the workforce part-time. Perhaps you work part-time in one of those areas and would like some more hours.

The Better Outcomes in Mental Health Care (BOiMHC) Program is a Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA) initiative. It has several components, one of which enables GPs to refer their patients to psychologists and other allied health professionals for mental health care, via projects run by Divisions of General Practice. For more information see http://ahpilots.strategicdata.com.au/.

The Program Evaluation Unit in the School of Population Health at the University of Melbourne is contracted by DoHA to evaluate this component of the BOiMHC Program. Part of the evaluation involves Divisions of General Practice entering patient-level and session-level data into a Minimum Dataset (MDS). Strategic Data Pty Ltd has been subcontracted to provide the database development and end user application support for the project.

There are now over 110 Divisions of General Practice involved in the project, each of which enter their data into a secure web based application.

The person employed in this role will be responsible for the help desk function on a day to day basis and will be involved in specifying and prioritising development of new features for the MDS as part of periodic updates to the MDS application.

Help desk enquiries can be anything from password resets to diagnosing issues with data submissions that are not being accepted. Experience manipulating data will be highly regarded.
